Next meeting will be September 2, 2010 - Lightning Talks

Back to learning (school) night!  Share your Points is always a great way to learn and also a great way to network.  There will be a user group meeting for September and the topic will be the 10 minute Lightning talks.  This is a forum of any Sharepoint topic – questions, bouncing of ideas, new discovery, something to be proud, etc. , shared by various Sharepoint enthusiasts in the user group community.

We are still accepting volunteers who would like to be a speaker for the Lightning talks.  The volunteer will be given 10+ minutes to share.  Please send email to points2share@gmail.com or Sachin@gqc.com and include a sentence of your topic in the email.

Please email point2share@gmail.com for any questions

Incorporating Managed Metadata in Custom Solutions
Microsoft injected strong support for metadata, taxonomies and folksonomies in SharePoint 2010 with the addition of the Managed Metadata service application and Managed Metadata field type. While there is plenty of support for metadata across the platform out-of-the-box, Microsoft has included a very robust API in this latest release of SharePoint 2010 to create custom solutions. In this session we'll explore how we can create custom metadata based solutions for use in SharePoint 2010.
